FEMEN protestors at a Cabinet meeting in the UkraineThe days of British feminists chaining themselves to railings have long since passed.

But in the Ukraine, feminism is still an issue worth fighting for and feminists' organization FEMEN are at the forefront of the battle for equality.

This week the group squared up to the Ukraine's all-male government at a Cabinet meeting in Kiev.

The often scantily-clad women held up portfolios emblazoned with such statements as "Minister of Nappies", "Minister of Dirty Socks" and "Minister of Bed".

And these ladies are no strangers to controversy in their native land.

The sexual harassment of students by university professors, swine flu terror and sex tourism have all received the FEMEN treatment.

Already this year, the feminist group has staged a number of protests.

They dressed as prostitutes in January for a "Sexit Poll", calling for a fair presidential election.

Come the election itself, the protestors stripped semi-naked as presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovich cast his vote, holding placards saying "Enough to violate the country" and "Help! Rape!".

FEMEN even drew attention to the lack of medals at this year's Winter Olympics, urging the government to provide better funding for sports.

However, as several of the protestors were detained by police, it looks like the FEMEN ladies will face many more semi-naked freezing Ukraine winters before sexual equality is the norm.
