couple kissingMeg Ryan proved just how easy it was and now a new poll has revealed that a large number of British women are regularly taking a leaf out of her book.

The survey, by soft drink firm Stimul8, found that almost half of British women have faked an orgasm at some point.

But a sizeable one in 10 never manage the real thing and are forced to act out their orgasm every time they make love.

It's no surprise then, that one in five is extremely unhappy in the bedroom with 16 per cent missing out on foreplay and 11 per cent left hanging when their partner orgasms too early.

And so accomplished have we become, apparently, at faking the ecstasy that almost 38 per cent of women believe their man would struggle to tell the difference between fake and reality.

Mind you, many of the 3,000 women polled have only themselves to blame for their unsatisfactory romps.

More than a quarter confessed that they are either too embarrassed to mention the problems or just can't be bothered to talk about it.

A spokesman for Stimul8 told the Daily Mail: "It appears men in the UK have their work cut out if one in five women are saying they are extremely unhappy with their sex life.

"But it's not all down to the blokes as women need to communicate a bit more with their partner to let them know what it is they really want."

It seems the famous When Harry Met Sally line, "I'll have what she's having" is all too true for most of us.
