GMTV presenter Kate Garraway recently declared that her 2st weight loss was down to healthy eating and a strict exercise regime. But while those low-calorie dishes were indeed home cooked, they came from somebody else's home.
The 42-year-old decided on a new diet regime after giving birth last October and attributed her fast four month weight loss to her personal trainer and a tasty low-carb eating plan.
In an interview with New! magazine, she was asked whether having to cook healthy meals for herself was a struggle.
"Not really, " Kate replied. "Because I got really into blending."
It turns out, however, that there was no struggle at all, since all her food was pre-prepared and delivered direct to her home by diet company Bodychef.
Jayne Ritchie, who set up the business, told the Daily Mail: "I was shocked to open the magazine and see my seven-day menu but not see any reference to me at all. I was disappointed because I felt I'd made a real effort to help her."
Though TV news presenters are banned from endorsing products, Kate has been happy enough to discuss the big-name labels amongst her sizeable wardrobe.
A spokesperson for New! insisted that Bodychef were aware that they would not be mentioned in the article, but Ms Ritchie said: "She can't endorse products. I understand that.
"I didn't expect to end up on the GMTV sofa or for her to become the face of Bodychef or anything.
"But I had thought there would be some mention, if not for the company, then my by name. She mentioned her personal trainer in the article."
Mind you, Ms Ritchie should at least be proud that her diet seems to work wonders.
What do you think? Should Kate have come clean on her Bodychef diet?
