Forget your anti-ageing skin creams and lotions, girls... there's a new wrinkle-buster in town.Known as Innéov Fermeté, the one-a-day pill can apparently give us younger looking skin and fewer wrinkles... where have we heard that one before?
This time, though, scientists have harnessed the health-giving powers of the humble tomato and claim that trials show the Smartie-sized pill dramatically slows the ageing of the skin.
Oddly, the sweet red pill has been developed by Nestlé and L'Oréal and uses a compound found in tomatoes that promotes regeneration of new skin cells and protects our tired old ones from damage.
Already on sale in parts of Europe and South America, a British launch is planned though it is unclear just when it will be available.
The boffins have been busy testing their 'miracle' drug on two groups of women, 90 aged between 51 and 69 and a further 70 averaging 45 years.
Half took the new pill while the others were given a placebo and, after six months, those who had taken the drug experienced skin elasticity that was 8.7 per cent better than the control group.
However, as always with 'miracle' wrinkle-busters, there's a catch... the manufacturers advise that you may not notice a difference for a full three months, and at £25 for a 10-day supply that may just not be convincing enough to prevent us from heading back to the creams.

This is nothing new. I have been taking a supplement that has been clinically proven to reduce lines and wrinkles. Ok its not one tablet but 2 twice a day. BUT its still nothing new to take tablets that reduce wrinkles!
