Most of us have already grown out of crayons, but who can forget the simple joy of creating your very first art works?Well for one American artist, the heady scent of the wax was too powerful to ignore and he is now creating works of art using crayons... whole ones.
Herb Williams from Nashville uses, on average, 75,000 crayons at a time to sculpture everything from dresses to Barack Obama and his works are fast becoming desirable.
Dogs, portable TVs... even Man in Black Johnny Cash has had the Crayola treatment as Herb painstakingly glues thousands of the childhood favourites together.
He told Metro: "I never grew out of them, I just changed the way I use them.
"I was a more traditional artist, but, six years ago, I was feeling down and I was a dark, angry artist. Then I had a dream and saw a sculpture in crayons."
The 36-year-old father of two then set about making his dream come true and his works are now selling for up to £20,000.
Mind you, it can't be cheap either... Herb gets through around a million crayons a year.
"I have a personal account with Crayola and they send me packs of 3,000 crayons in the same colour," he added.

Herb Williams is currently showing some of his finest at an exhibition in New York.
