Agreed - marriage is a waste of money and has a 50% failure rate! It is a contract FOR LIFE, the vows absolutely exclude the option of divorce. How ridiculous is that? Marriage does not work. We are not a monogamous species.
The main thinking behind marriage is to lock people into a control system - get married, get a mortgage, take out loans for home improvements, make babies, get locked into a job - it's all about control and conformity.
Marriage is a contract for life - so as part of the vows, agree which of you is to die when it goes wrong - the only way out of those vows is death - they are your vows, not mine.

Marrige means everything. A wedding is a celebration of your love, and marrige sybolises how much you love that person and that you want to be with them forever. What's so terrible about that?
